Without it, development and QA teams could potentially lose hundreds of hours of work in the event of a disaster. Mercury Interactive deployed Riverbed Steelhead appliances in each office to secure the fastest backup times in the market.

Backup of remote filers now takes six to eight hours, instead of 24 hours. Bandwidth utilization also decreased by 90%. Riverbed Steelhead appliances have even accelerated the development cycle. By accelerating FTP transmissions among Mercury’s locations, the company has been able to cut its development cycle down from four to 1.5 days.
