Pump Solutions Group (PSG) is a global manufacturing leader of pumps and has world-class facilities in the U.S., Germany, China, India, and France.PSG sought to unify the disparate networks of its subsidiaries and build a common DR framework for the organization. It became an early adopter of Whitewater cloud storage accelerators from Riverbed and trialed them in its Wilden Pump subsidiary.
Wilden Pump was able to deduplicate data 12X before transporting it over the WAN for public cloud storage and DR. This subsidiary was able to reduce storage costs dramatically and save up to 2 hours each day in administrative overhead by eliminating the need to create tape archives, was able to simplify and streamline the data restoral process, and no longer faces the inefficiency of ever having to restore data from tapes. PSG is now evaluating broader deployment of Whitewater appliances throughout the company as it develops a unified network and a unified DR plan.
