Summary

DSFCU, a not-for-profit cooperative and Arizona’s largest credit union, sought to increase service capabilities in its retail banking locations but required a centralized IT management strategy that could support the need for local computing power, while also providing fast connections to applications and files from the data center.

With Steelhead appliances installed, DSFCU had the equivalent of three times more bandwidth. DSFCU’s bank loan applications, Adobe and Excel performance were optimized by 80 percent on its network. As a result, the credit union’s network was more flexible and scalable. Today, DSFCU can run additional banking applications and systems running SSL traffic, and replicate branch data to its data center  over existing WAN links. Additionally, IT administrators can centrally manage the Steelhead appliances using their Riverbed Central Management Console (CMC).
