Summary

International Justice Mission (IJM) is a human rights agency dedicated to assisting victims of violent oppression. Headquartered near Washington, DC, IJM lawyers, investigators, and aftercare professionals work with officials around the world to rescue victims, provide social services, and prosecute perpetrators.

IJM operates 14 field offices across South America, Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. In some of these locations, network performance is poor and bandwidth is expensive—in Uganda, for example, a 128K link can cost $1,200 per month and deliver only 64K performance.

To improve network throughput without increasing costs, IJM chose WAN optimization technologies from Riverbed. Because Riverbed solutions offer an easy deployment process, the agency’s four-person, U.S.-based IT team was able to quickly complete a global rollout without the need for local support staff.
