Summary

Headquartered in Sweden, Lantmännen is an agriculture cooperative owned by more than 40,000 farmers in 22 countries. As one of the largest food and energy organizations in the world, Lantmännen employs more than 12,000 people and produces goods valued at almost six billion dollars per year.

Because the cooperative is so large, Lantmännen operates a WAN that spans 550 sites across Europe. Faced with the costly prospect of upgrading its equipment, the organization decided it needed to optimize its network without digging up and replacing links between sites.

To improve network performance cost effectively, Lantmännen selected solutions from Riverbed. By offering a simple, fast implementation process, Riverbed technology allowed the cooperative to consolidate equipment and complete a rollout to 90 sites in just two weeks.
