Summary

Lathrop & Gage is a full service law firm that specializes in 13 core practice areas and more than 25 sub-practice areas, including business litigation, intellectual property, and labor law. One of the oldest firm west of the Mississippi River, Lathrop & Gage employs more than 300 lawyers and 300 support staff.

Lathrop & Gage had servers and other network equipment deployed at each of its 11 offices across the United States, a configuration that led to poor network performance. As Lathrop & Gage embarked on a network redesign, the firm’s IT staff realized they needed to deliver better performance and improve collaboration capabilities across the firm’s offices.

To optimize performance both during and after the network redesign, Lathrop & Gage chose Riverbed solutions, including Steelhead appliances and the Riverbed Services Platform. With Riverbed, Lathrop & Gage was able to run applications on virtualized servers and easily accommodate laptop users and attorneys working remotely.

Riverbed technology allowed Lathrop & Gage to consolidate its network equipment, simplifying the firm’s WAN infrastructure and lowering management costs significantly.
