RIVERBED APPOINTS FORMER SIEBEL EXECUTIVE AS GLOBAL SALES LEADER

Dave Peranich Named Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales

San Francisco, CA — July 26, 2006 —Riverbed Technology, Inc. today announced that Dave Peranich has joined the company as senior vice president, worldwide sales. In his role, Peranich will be responsible for driving Riverbed’s global sales strategy and company revenue. Peranich brings with him more than twenty years of experience leading successful sales, business development and product organizations for some of the world's leading enterprise software companies, including Siebel Systems and Remedy Corporation.

Most recently, Peranich was CEO and president at Centrata, a provider of IT Service Delivery Management solutions. Prior to joining Centrata, Peranich acted as vice president and general manager of worldwide alliances for Siebel Systems, the industry's leading CRM provider. Under his leadership, the alliance organization drove annual revenues in excess of $300M. Peranich was previously vice president and general manager for Siebel's Call Center and Service Products where he was responsible for product strategy and development, product marketing, analyst relations, customer success and world wide product revenues for the company's largest product line.

Prior to joining Siebel, Peranich was vice president in charge of sales for Remedy in the Americas. At Remedy, he led all aspects of direct and channel sales, telesales, and sales operations for North and South America and managed a team of 190 employees. Peranich has also held a variety of sales and engineering positions for Oracle, Decisive Technology, Lockheed Missiles & Space and the Martin Marietta Corp. Peranich received his masters of science in systems management from the University of Southern California and a bachelors of science in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
