RIVERBED WINS DIGITAL TIMES AND ELECTRONIC TIMES CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AWARDS
Top Daily Publications in Korea Name Steelhead Appliances the Winner in both the Networking and WDS Product Categories
San Francisco — January 10, 2006 — Riverbed Technology, the performance leader in wide-area data services (WDS), announced today that its Steelhead® appliances were named by Korea's Digital Times and Electronic Times as the winner of their annual Customer Satisfaction Awards. Electronic Times recognized Riverbed® in the Network Solution category. Digital Times chose Riverbed as the winner in the WDS category. The publications named the Steelhead appliances a "hit product" for 2005. The Steelhead appliances were selected from a group of competitors in the wide area file services (WAFS), WAN optimization, and WDS product categories, including offerings from some of the largest companies in networking.

The publications highlighted the comprehensive problem-solving approaches provided by Steelhead, including industry-leading network compression capabilities, TCP optimizations, and application-specific optimization features. Riverbed was also recognized for developing and adopting its patented scalable data referencing (SDR) to eliminate all redundant WAN traffic and reduce overall WAN traffic by 60-95%. The publications also highlighted Steelhead's facilitation of IT consolidation and remote workforce productivity improvements.
