RIVERBED ADDS VP OF CHANNEL SALES TO EXECUTIVE TEAM

Industry Veteran will Develop Channel Distribution Programs at Leading WAN Acceleration Firm

San Francisco — April 25, 2005— Riverbed Technology, the performance leader in application acceleration on wide area networks, announced today that Bertrand D. Yansouni has joined the company as Vice President of Channel Sales. Yansouni will be responsible for growing and managing global distribution programs for Riverbed’s award winning Wide Area Data Services (WDS) solutions, the Steelhead appliance product family.

Yansouni joins Riverbed from VMware where he helped design, build, implement and execute VMware’s go-to-market plan, channel strategy and partner programs and was part of the management team that grew VMware’s revenues by more than 100% in 2004. He was responsible for building and managing VMware’s channel of more than 500 resellers and distributors. In addition to his role at VMware, Yansouni has held senior sales and business development roles with Portera Systems, Inc., Spyglass, Informix Software, Inc., and IBM. In each of these roles, Yansouni was responsible for growing markets and channels, and consistently exceeded objectives. He holds a B.S. in industrial engineering and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
