New Features in the Riverbed Optimization System (RiOS) Version 4.1
Riverbed now accelerates Oracle 11i E-Business suite applications and contains enhancements to further optimize large-scale data transfers for disaster recovery.

SPEED

Oracle Optimization. RiOS 4.1 now applies application-specific protocol optimization to Oracle Forms traffic, found throughout the Oracle E-Business application suite. By applying new acceleration techniques to the Oracle Jinitiator Web browser plug-in, RiOS can accelerate Oracle 11i applications that are built using Forms.

Disaster Recovery Acceleration. Building upon data streamlining and transport streamlining functionality, RiOS 4.1 now combines its advanced optimization with a new set of behavioral traffic recognition features to enable adaptive acceleration based on the size and type of the data to be transferred.  This dynamically enabled acceleration automatically recognizes disaster recovery operations, such as data replication and backup jobs, to achieve even faster performance for large-scale data transfers.

SCALABILITY

Steelhead 6120. The newest Steelhead® appliance has a data store that is over 3 TB in size - more than two times the largest previously available. The Steelhead 6120 gives organizations even greater scalability for data center-to-data center transfers, while still being compatible with an end-to-end system of acceleration for branch offices and mobile workers.

SECURITY

Encrypted Data Store. RiOS 4.1 also provides encryption capability for the data stored on disk in Steelhead appliances for organizations that require high levels of security or face stringent compliance requirements.  Encryption standards supported include AES 128, 192 and 256-bit.
