Employees at the Khaleej Times newspaper were experiencing delays, when attempting to access key business applications and information, between the Abu Dhabi office and the newspaper’s data center based in Dubai. The company considered upgrading its bandwidth but this proved to be expensive and would have been disruptive to implement.
After successfully testing the Riverbed WAN optimization solution, Khaleej Times deployed Steelhead appliances at its data center and Abu Dhabi office. This resulted in an immediate improvement in file download speeds, which has increased employee productivity. Khaleej Times has also realized significant cost savings by avoiding a bandwidth upgrade.
