Sappi already had a WAN optimization solution in place, but it was unable to accelerate Citrix ICA traffic. Sappi took the decision to replace the existing system with a WAN optimization solution from Riverbed which resulted in a 50% reduction in bandwidth utilization. In addition Sappi wanted to achieve greater application and network visibility.
