Tax Forms and Requirements
We currently charge tax for shipments within the United States (US) and the European Union (EU). For US sales tax, we will not charge tax if we receive proper exemption or reseller documentation prior to invoicing. For value added tax (VAT), in most circumstances we will not charge VAT if we receive the appropriate VAT identification number (ID). The specific requirements are below.
Sales Tax Requirements
Riverbed charges sales tax in US jurisdictions it operates in. However, Riverbed will not charge sales tax when it receives proper documentation that is properly completed and conforms to state law requirements.
If you are reselling Riverbed products or services, you must provide us with a properly completed Resale Tax Certificate for the state(s) where we are drop shipping for you. Please refer to Resale Tax Certificates for appropriate tax forms and Riverbed Sales Tax Requirements for more information.
If you are an exempt entity (e.g., non-profit) or have been issued a direct pay permit, please send the appropriate documentation so we can exempt your purchase from tax.
VAT Requirements
For sales shipped within the European Union, please refer to the VAT requirements and provide us with the required VAT ID.
Failure to provide any of the above may result in unnecessary sales tax /
VAT charges.
