What's New in Cascade

Cascade Profiler 9.0, Cascade Pilot 3.0 and Cascade Shark 3.0

Troubleshooting performance problems on the network is now easier than ever before, with the first network performance management solution on the market to provide seamless navigation from high-level network and application status down to the packet level.

Troubleshoot Faster with Top-Down Network Visibility

Searching through performance management data can feel like finding a needle in a haystack. Cascade accelerates this process by consolidating all flow-based and packet-based traffic data collected on the network into a single data set with a single top-down view. At the top level, an executive-level dashboard reports on application and network status in an easy-to-use format (green/yellow/red indicators). Drill down into a rich set of performance metrics with an end-to-end view of IT infrastructure and a map of all dependencies. If necessary, view detailed analysis of traffic at remote locations and launch Wireshark® to view the specific packets that reveal the problem’s root cause.

A multi-resolution view of the network means more than faster troubleshooting. It is also less expensive to buy and maintain, gives broader visibility to remote locations and provides more flexible reporting.

Behavioral Analytics Based on Packet Capture Appliances

Don’t settle for cumbersome integrations of performance management and packet analysis tools. Every Cascade Shark packet capture appliance now collects performance metrics for behavioral analytics purposes. If a performance problem is found, Cascade will proactively send an alert to the administrator and show the status in the executive dashboard. Clicking on the status will lead the user directly into the packet capture data that was recorded at that location. That’s the beauty of a single, integrated performance management data set.

Application Transaction Analysis with Cascade Pilot

Cascade Pilot, the network analysis software from Riverbed, gains new views for detailed analysis of application transactions. Application sequence diagrams are now available to show detailed request/response information and measure request/response timing for Web and other applications. These diagrams support multiple application tiers, so you can see the complete path of a transaction between a client and multiple servers. Sequence diagrams are also available at the transport level for packet-by-packet analysis.

Cascade Pilot 3.0 also adds support for new protocols and applications including FIX, MySQL, MSSQL and others, and provides improved filtering and new Interactive Views for an enhanced drill-down process.
