Windows Packet Capture Without Installation
WinPcap Professional is intended for organizations that produce widely-deployed commercial software products that take advantage of the WinPcap (Windows Packet Capture) functionality. Riverbed proprietary dynamic functionality enables WinPcap Professional to be included in your application as a Dynamic Link Library (DLL). The DLL provides all of the WinPcap functionality without any explicit installation.
Bundles WinPcap functionality with an application
As a Windows DLL, WinPcap Professional seamlessly and transparently integrates WinPcap functionality with your application. Consequently, your users are not aware of the installation of a third-party package with your application.
Costs less than doing it yourself
Creating a DLL with the functionality of WinPcap Professional is a challenging engineering task that will take a talented engineer several months to recreate. Because WinPcap operates at a low level within the Windows networking stack, re-implementing the functionality will require a highly skilled specialist.
