The Interceptor® appliance extends the scaling and high-availability capabilities of Steelhead® appliances from Riverbed Technology to meet the requirements of the largest and most complex enterprise networks and data center environments.

The Interceptor appliance clusters up to 25 Steelhead appliances so they can work together seamlessly to scale out to a million TCP connections and up to 40 Gbps of throughput. It simplifies network setup while offering a choice of deployment options.

With the Interceptor appliance, enterprises can scale their WAN optimization solutions to support hundreds of thousands of end users across the enterprise, and scale up to optimize very-high-bandwidth network connections in the data center.
