Riverbed Announces Rebecca Hazard as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary to the Riverbed Board of Directors
An accomplished lawyer with wide expertise in legal matters, including commercial and technology transactions
SAN FRANCISCO – AUGUST 27, 2018 – Riverbed®, The Digital Performance Company™, today announced the appointment of Rebecca Hazard to serve as its new General Counsel and corporate secretary to the Riverbed Board of Directors. As General Counsel, Hazard is responsible for all legal matters, as well as trade compliance. Hazard was previously Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Riverbed, managing a global team of lawyers and legal professionals in commercial and technology transactions worldwide, including inbound and outbound licensing, partner and OEM agreements, and intellectual property matters.

Hazard brings a wealth of experience counseling business stakeholders in product, engineering, business development, channel partnerships, sales, policy, marketing and other functions in the areas of intellectual property licensing and commercial law.
Prior to Riverbed, Hazard worked as an attorney in New York and San Francisco at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, in the Technology and IP Transactions practice group, where she focused on the acquisition, financing and sale of intellectual property and technology-focused businesses, including public and private acquisition and sale and licensing transactions. She also worked as an associate at O’Melveny & Meyers LLP.
Hazard holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College (cum laude) and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
