SAN FRANCISCO—December 12, 2012— Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the performance company, has been named a top three Best Place to Work for 2013 in the Glassdoor Employees' Choice Award. In its fifth year, the Employees' Choice Awards rely solely on the input of employees, who provide feedback on their job, work environment, and company through Glassdoor's anonymous online company review survey. Riverbed® ranked third out of close to half a million global companies rated by their employees, and second overall among technology companies.
During the past 12 months employees submitted anonymous reviews to Glassdoor to help put their employers in the running for the award. The Glassdoor company review survey asks employees to rate their satisfaction with the company overall and key workplace factors like career opportunities, compensation and benefits, work/life balance, senior management, as well as culture and values. The overall rating is based on the cumulative average rating from US-based employees who elected to participate in the survey between November 23, 2011 and November 13, 2012.
Employees gave Riverbed an overall 4.5 out of five stars. In the reviews, employees applauded the company for creating a great atmosphere, picking a great headquarters location and offering great benefits. Employees also noted the excellent leadership team that knows how to get things done and keep employees energized. Management was recognized for caring for the staff, respecting the staff, and not micro-managing. Employees who responded also highlighted the many opportunities for career advancement within the company. Additional response highlights include:
