Collects popular flow-data statistics
Collects, aggregates, and compresses flow data such as NetFlow, sFlow, J-Flow, and IPFIX from across the enterprise, and then transmits it to the Cascade Profiler appliance.
The backbone of network understanding is accurate data collection
With real-time visibility and historical insight into network flow data you can optimize delivery of network services.
Less data collected equals lower total cost of ownership
Since most collections devices, including Cascade Gateway appliances, charge by flow count, you’ll save money because Cascade Gateway appliances remove flow data redundancy through flow de-duplication and centralizing the storage of flow data.

Cascade Gateway appliance reports on flow-based metrics, such as traffic volume.
Common performance problems solved
Your business can recover from an application failure
Quickly troubleshoot and recover from an acute application failure that disrupts your business or impacts user productivity.
Detect problems early before anyone else knows
With the Cascade Gateway appliance, you plan better for capacity changes and get early insight into potential issues before they become critical.
Better communications with your team and senior management
All performance aspects of application development, quality assurance, and troubleshooting can be handled quickly, efficiently, and effectively through the use of transparent reports that you, your team, and senior management will appreciate.
Flow data is critical when every transaction counts
All industries can benefit from continuous flow data analysis, especially for organizations in financial services, trading, government, healthcare, and retail. It’s also incredibly valuable for distributed businesses with lots of branch offices.

Deeper understanding through better collection
The Cascade Gateway appliance gathers data flows from multiple devices, and then collates and deduplicates it to provide a single view of the entire flow. Individual device-specific metrics are appended to the flow allowing other applications to generate detailed reports.
Deploy once or multiple times
A Cascade Gateway appliance can be deployed with the Cascade Profiler appliance in the data center, or multiple Cascade Gateway appliances can be deployed regionally for scalability and improved performance. In either case, all reporting is forwarded to a centrally located Cascade Profiler appliance for analysis.
Capture flow data in a virtualized environment
If you’re running a virtualized environment, Riverbed Cascade® Gateway Virtual Edition is the virtualized version of the Cascade Gateway appliance that runs on VMware vSphere.
