Back to TopHere’s how Whitewater appliances protect data:
The backup application sends data to the Whitewater appliance, where it is deduplicated, compressed, and encrypted. The data is stored in local cache and also replicated to cloud storage.

Whitewater reads data from local cache, rehydrates it, and then provides it to the backup app without any cloud interaction.

For old or seldom accessed data, Whitewater first reads local cache and pulls missing missing segments from the cloud. It then integrates the data, rehydrates it, and provides it to the backup application.

Whitewater cloud storage products are available as physical and virtual appliances to meet the needs of organizations of all sizes.

Windows Azure enables you to focus on delivering value to customers – and not on managing technology infrastructure. Whether creating new applications or enhancing existing applications, Windows Azure lets you take your ideas to market faster. Windows Azure gives you four core storage services that are secure, scalable and easy to access that remain persistent and durable in the cloud. With Windows Azure you now have a cloud storage platform that enables you to scale your solution up and down quickly in response to changes in business and customer needs.
