With Whitewater appliances, cloud storage, and your existing backup and archiving applications you can:
Whitewater® cloud storage appliances seamlessly integrate the industry’s most scalable and cost effective storage into your existing applications and infrastructure. Leverage the scalability, data durability, and pay-for-use pricing of cloud storage with immediate access to your data locally or at another location using built in replication.
Whitewater appliances deliver a new storage tier offering petabytes inexpensive cloud storage that streamlines data management while delivering a payback measured in months, not years.
Seamlessly integrate cloud storage into your existing applications and infrastructure: Whitewater appliances deliver the scalability, low cost, and data durability of the cloud without changes to your existing data protection and archival applications.
Enterprise scale: Whitewater appliances can store up to 2.8PB of logical data locally and up to 14.4PB in the cloud. Advanced processors and 10Gbit networking deliver top performance and fast transmission.
Immediate recovery: Built in network efficient replication provides immediate access to data at another location. Pin important data within the appliance cache to guarantee local access. Leverage, free, read only virtual appliances to deliver fast data recovery at any location with Internet access
Reduce costs by up to 80%: Leveraging advanced deduplication technologies and pay-for-use cloud storage services, Whitewater appliances shrink data sets by 10 to 30x on average to reduce the cost of backup and archiving by up to 80%.
Improve data security: Strong encryption of data on-site, in transit, and at rest within the cloud means your data remains secure. Encryption keys remain safe under administrator control in your data center.
Purpose-built for backup and archiving: With support of popular backup and archiving applications and leading cloud storage services, Whitewater appliances deliver the power and economics of cloud storage with immediate access to data locally or at a remote site via built in replication.
Advanced in-line deduplication reduces costs and speeds transmission: Variable segment length, in-line deduplication results in smaller data sets, faster transmission, and reduced cloud storage costs.
Amazon Glacier support: Whitewater delivers easy access to low cost Amazon Glacier storage for the long-term storage of backup and archival data sets.
Intelligent local cache and data pinning: Cache the most recent and frequently accessed data within the Whitewater appliance or lock chosen data sets within the local cache with data pinning to guarantee fast access.
Strong encryption and secure transmission: Secure data in-flight using SSL v3 and at-rest with AES 256-bit encryption to ensure end-to-end security for your data.
Enterprise management: A centralized management console provides easy management of remote appliances, offers proactive problem reporting and supports Windows Active Directory to integrate seamlessly into your infrastructure.
Drop-in installation: Start moving data to the cloud within one hour without changes to your application, policies or infrastructure with Whitewater’s drop-in installation.
Award winning support: Global, award winning support is available to quickly provide assistance should you ever have a question or issue.Back To Top
Whitewater appliances enable you to modernize your organization’s data protection, streamline operations, and reduce costs. Here’s how:
A backup or archiving application sends data to the Whitewater appliance, where it is deduplicated, compressed, and encrypted. The data is stored in the local cache and also replicated to cloud storage, and also can be transmitted to a second Whitewater appliance.
The Whitewater appliance reads data from its local cache, rehydrates it, and then provides it to the backup or archiving app without any cloud interaction. With use of built-in replication, data is immediately available from the secondary Whitewater appliance with no cloud interaction or transmission delays.
For old or seldom-accessed data, the Whitewater appliance first reads the local cache and pulls missing segments from the cloud. It then integrates the data, rehydrates it, and provides it to the backup application. Because much of the data requested exists in the cache through deduplication, recovery speed is increased.
