In Brief
- Backup windows were reduced from four hours to just five minutes
- Saved $198,000 in annual bandwidth expenses
- Optimized 82 percent of the data transferred over the WAN
- Increased WAN bandwidth capacity by 3.1 times
LITTLE provides architecture, interior services, engineering design, graphic design, and building technology services to its clients. The firm stored much of its client data locally on desktop and laptop machines, which was a problem. In the event of a disaster or disruption, a single day's worth of lost data could cost $200,000.
The Riverbed solution increased LITTLE's bandwidth capacity by more than three times. The solution offered WAN backup, fast data replication, and reduced four-hour backups to just 5 minutes, which meant LITTLE could backup and recover client data 98 percent faster than before. Riverbed also centralized all client data at the corporate data center, where it was secure, and where all employees could still access it, even in an emergency.
Summary
Increased bandwidth capacity by more than 3x
