Today is literally a ‘brand’ new day for Riverbed. It’s a moment we’ve been preparing for the last several months, and eager to unveil to our customers, partners and the world.
First, as you’ll see in our CEO Dan Smoot’s blog and press announcement, Riverbed is launching a broad strategy to bring unified observability to customers globally and accelerate growth. As part of the strategy, we’re developing an expanded unified observability portfolio to unify data, insights and actions to solve one of the industry’s most daunting problems: how to provide seamless digital experiences that are high performing and secure in a hybrid world of highly distributed users and applications, exploding data and soaring IT complexity.
In conjunction with this announcement, I’m pleased to share that we’re launching the new Riverbed brand, including the introduction of Alluvio by Riverbed, our portfolio for unified observability. With a fresh and vibrant visual identity, and a sharpened articulation of our solutions, the brand refresh reflects the evolution of the Company, our technology, and the momentum we are driving in the market.
The launch of Riverbed’s new brand identity and Unified Observability strategy comes nine months after Riverbed reunited with Aternity—which had been operating independently—to capitalize on the tremendous market opportunity around unified visibility and observability. We initially went to market as Riverbed | Aternity to signify the unification of these companies and our industry-leading solutions. Collectively, the companies’ intense focus on NPM, DEM (Aternity) delivering actionable insights on performance and acceleration have positioned Riverbed to fully capitalize in both the Unified Observability and Acceleration markets.
Now is the right moment to emerge as the new Riverbed—a Company that is visionary but grounded; agile yet proven; dynamic while trustworthy. We understand that every click brings an expectation of a flawless digital experience. And Riverbed enables organizations to transform data into actionable insights and accelerate performance for a seamless digital experience.
Riverbed will go to market with two exciting product lines—Alluvio by Riverbed and Riverbed Acceleration.
Alluvio pays homage to Riverbed, while also underscoring our unified observability value proposition. The name Alluvio derives from alluvium—the place where riverbeds unite and create the most nutrient-rich environment to mine for gold—with the ‘o’ standing for observability. Metaphorically, it represents the coming together of discrete IT telemetry streams (network, application, end users) where insights that are hard to find, but worth their weight in gold, reside. And metaphorically the “o” represents how we apply observability as a process to harness the value across the streams of telemetry—ultimately finding the “gold” for our customers across the flood of data in their IT ecosystems
Our Alluvio unified observability portfolio of solutions helps customers find that gold as fast as possible, turning actionable insights into business value so companies can stay competitive, productive and satisfy users’ fierce appetite for seamless digital experiences.
Our second portfolio is Riverbed Acceleration, which provides fast, agile, secure acceleration of any app over any network to users anywhere.
